This is where I rant and rave about all of the goings on in my never ending attempts to fix the problems in the world ,help people with their projects ,beg for money or just whine about my own struggle to get by from day to day . Most of my entries tend to be of the whining type because if things are going good and I'm making money and too busy to write .Also ,if I'm working on an idea I think has real market value , I tend to keep it to myself or only give little hints .Much of the HairBrainSchemesDepartment page is like that .I make little drawings that may or may not work but save the refined versions for potential investors .Then again a lot of the ideas on that page are just plain wacky .The stuff dealing with wormholes are obviously going to have to wait till science fills in a few gaps .But stuff like TheArtierialBypassTool and TheNerveSplicerTool are things I have actually started making prototypes of .The bypass tool is something I think has the most potential because my newest design (not the one pictured) is made with standard off the shelf components and would have much less FDA trial time needed .The nerve splicer is still more of a concept at this point because I don't yet have access to the hi-tech labs needed but the parts and techniques do exist .It's just a matter of some toying around with different ways of making it all work together .

And then there's things like the automatic toilet seat which at first seems like a joke but I think this could go a long way in saving some marriages .It also has the advantage of being a mass-market blobject (Blobjects are blow molded objects that can be made by the millions for pennies apiece) .All you need is a few grand to make the molds and the marketing and distribution deals and your in biz . Speaking of investors ,here's the deal .If I had the money myself I would like nothing better than to stay bottled up in my shop just working on stuff I think would help solve all of the problems in the world but for the moment ,most days are spent just trying to get the bills paid .Although I am making a little progress here and there ,at some point I'm going to need the big bucks that make the wheels of industry turn .If you or someone you know has the resources ,(and the stomach) for the world of product research and development ,let me know .brooks@robotgroup.org .
If you are into bartering for my ideas ,my time or anything else ,here's something to consider ; I am in need of a piece of land (about 3 to 5 acres in or around the Austin area) .Also with any investment of money or whatever ,I will offer the rights to the story of my life and full documentation of all the work to be done on the project you fund .Considering what all I've done and all the media attention I've received over the years ,that's got to be worth something .The last 10 years of making a living selling metal bras to movie stars ,rock stars and strippers is a movie in it's self .Not to mention my involvement with the robot group and about 15 years of playing in some of the craziest bands around .
